With both sides eliminated from the tournament, the final league match of the Asia Cup is to be of little consequence for the tournament. However, it remains an important game for both teams: if Pakistan slip-up the pressure on their captain Shoaib Malik and coach Geoff Lawson will grow, and for Bangladesh this is their last time to gain some confidence before setting off on a tough tour of Australia.
The plethora of big scores which have been easily chased down hasn't dissuaded captains from choosing to bat first, and Bangladesh continued the trend on yet another flat track. They were comprehensively outplayed in their last game by Sri Lanka, but they decided to retain the same XI. One of their concerns has been the poor form of their pace spearhead Mashrafe Mortaza, who hasn't been the force he was a year ago.

Pakistan made one change to the side that triumphed over India on Wednesday, leaving out Shahid Afridi, who was innocuous in that game. Saeed Ajmal, the offspinner whose straighter one troubled the Indian batsmen, gets another chance to impress.
Pakistan: 1 Salman Butt, 2 Shoaib Malik (capt), 3 Younis Khan, 4 Mohammad Yousuf, 5 Misbah-ul-Haq, 6 Nasir Jamshed, 7 Sohail Tanvir, 8 Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), 9 Abdur Rauf, 10 Iftikhar Anjum, 11 Saeed Ajmal.
Bangladesh: 1 Tamim Iqbal, 2 Nazimuddin, 3 Mohammad Ashraful (capt), 4 Raqibul Hasan, 5 Alok Kapali, 6 Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), 7 Mahmudullah, 8 Farhad Reza, 9 Shahadat Hossain, 10 Abdur Razzak, 11 Mashrafe Mortaza.
